Group Lesson Performance

Spring Recital 2015

March 23, 2015

This year not only did we have solo performances in the recital, we also incorporated group performances from the children in my group lesson:) Mr Lawrence Huang’s Mountain House students also joined this year’s recital as well as group performance. Please enjoy this GoPro edit video and photos my husband took of these wonderful children.

I had the privilege of taking this 2-day course in Berkeley with Rick Mooney, a wonderful cello teacher, who spent 5 years with a group of Suzuki teachers of different instruments putting together this course so they can help other Suzuki teachers become more effective and loving teachers:) I’m thankful for being in the Suzuki of Americas Association and getting the types of training for myself to become a better teacher, at the same time appreciate what music can bring into our lives:)

My next student recital is on Mar 22, 2015, stay tuned for more performance pictures brought to you by my newest gadget, the GoPro Hero 4 black edition:)

Today was my first time hosting a Holiday Celebration Concert in our neighborhood club house. The place was actually quite nice and very cozy for a group of 12 students and their families and friends to attend:) Everyone had fun while listening to each other play holiday pieces in both solos and duets. I look forward to our next recital in March 2015!

It was a day for Group Lessons here in my San Ramon studio:) I had a lot of fun and really missed having group lessons with the kids. I may have to really make group lessons a more regular event in the future. Not only did I have fun seeing their smiles, but they all learned from each other and it’s very encouraging to see this interaction again:) Thanks to all the parents that made the effort to come out to my studio again even though you live more than 30 minutes away:)

I thoroughly enjoyed attending this year’s Suzuki Institute where I attended all the classes with my son and didn’t have to take teacher training courses for myself:) Both my son and I learned so much from these wonderful teachers at the camp. They not only motivated my son to play even better for next year but they also motivated me to continue to teach my students so one day they can also attend this advanced institute:)

Here is the group performance Austin was a part of lead by Gail Acosta

I sincerely want to thank all the teachers who organize these institutes every summer and dedicate their time and energy to these students. We look forward to our next Summer Suzuki Institute in 2015!!

As for now, my own violin studio is completely full especially since I have to take care of my 4 month old Suzuki baby full time:) Thank you for your understanding and if you’d like to be on my wait list, please email me at keepviolinin@gmail.com
