Mountain House Mother’s Strings
January 26, 2012
I’m proud to share this video of the mothers who spent the last 3 months learning with me. They have worked so hard not only on organizing the New Year Celebration, but also preparing this piece for everyone:
It’s not difficult to pick up playing the violin, but difficult to be very good at it. There are certain limitations of coordination and intonation that comes with age. I myself learnt violin for about 1+yr when I was 39!!! Not bc of my kids though – my only violinist at that time had already started learning for some time then. It was a great year. My teacher let me perform with a college group(Of course I was the oldest. haha!).
Yes, you’re right. It’s difficult to be very good at it:) Any chance you will be visiting the U.S.? We hope to visit Singapore again in the future, but not sure when that will be…your younger one is progressing very well on the violin…keep up the great work!
I really don’t know if we’d be visiting the USA! Such a long flight. Haven’t been in some 15years! My brothers are there though.
Have never been on a successful learning journey with such a young child on any musical instrument before. I often think I’m crazy to start on this. Thanks for the encouragement!
