When I was living in Taipei I felt the same way, but the school I was working at was willing to allow me to use their space for rehearsals and performances, it was really nice and I was quite thankful of what the school provided:) Of course today I can’t complain about anything, I’ve got the perfect size studio for private and group lessons:)
I am really liking the sound of the Chinese instrument orchestra!!! It sounds amazing!!!!!:) You must be a very proud mom:) In fact, I’m having a GuZheng shipped out here next month:)
Proud mom to which one? Haha! I have 4 kids and they all have different interests!!! Piano, Viola, Violin in a few sizes, and HuQin(Erhu-more than 1, Diyin-Hu, JingHu) .. I’m getting envious at all the space you have! haha! Our instruments are all over the place!
You can play Guzheng? That is one instrument that is banned from our house. I told the kids – none of them can learn Guzheng & YangQin. Not especially after I’ve seen how those instruments need to be transported everywhere, even for exams!!! Imagine the tuning needed each time it’s set up!
So beautiful! If only we have that kind of space here.
Welcome to USA:)
Ah well… ;P

Even the studios at my boy’s music school do not have a space large enough! ;D
