Great rehearsal today with the beginner ensemble students!!:)

Welcome to my studio!

Today’s such a nice sunny day here in California.  We wish all the mothers out there a very happy mother’s day! My best mother’s day gift is to spend the day with my favorite son and best husband/dad.  Have a fabulous week everyone!:)

We are all registered to attend the 2012 Southern California Suzuki Institute @ Scripps College in July:) Austin is working hard for the next couple months to try to finish up Suzuki Book I and move onto Suzuki Book II.  I’m looking forward to his progress this summer in both violin and piano.   Austin’s first violin recital will be on May 20th, 2012, his first piano recital will be on June 9th, 2012, and his first Chinese class performance will be on June 16th, 2012.  What a memorable year it has been! Both Dave and I feel so blessed to live in such a family-oriented community.  We are looking forward to many more amazing years here in Mountain House:)

Thanks to my friend Helen who came to visit us from China and took photos while I was teaching.  As you can see, I am proud of my students whether they are children or adults and I truly love what I do and enjoy every moment of my students’ progress.

I’m super excited for this month!!:) Not only am I having my 1st Annual Summer Recital with my students that I have taught for the past year here in Mountain House, but I was asked as a volunteer to introduce my violin teacher since I was 12 years old, William Starr at the SAA Conference coming up at the end of this month.  This will be my first time attending a SAA conference, but already I am looking forward to the many sessions they are providing and the amount of information I will be getting from them.  You can check them out on this site: http://suzukiassociation.org/conference/

For the past year I’ve worked closely with another Mountain House Suzuki teacher as we combined our students and performed in various local events.  We decided to form our very own Mountain House Suzuki Strings and hope this group will grow as we continue to make our presence known in our community and our schools.  We’ve come up with a logo that both of us think can be long lasting.  Our next event that we will be participating in is the 7th Annual Mountain House July 4th Parade. Come check us out!!!

Go MHSS!!:)

We decided to share another Trio video with all of you to welcome the beautiful spring weather here in California:)

Here’s a picture of how the boys are really enjoying their father/son time together playing violin duets:) It’s so great for parents to play along with their children or if you have more than one child, your children can play together and you can be their audience:) Either way, this is a great way to motivate your child to keep violinin’ 🙂
